Profile

Kyoko Dufaux, a Japanese painter born in Nagoya in 1971, currently lives in Paris, where she studied at the Ecole Supérieure d’Arts Graphiques (ESAG). After living in the Ivory Coast for several years, Kyoko has developed a style offering an original synthesis between Japanese and African culture. Expressing a dreamlike and naive universe, she has collaborated as an illustrator with several publishing houses, French (Bayard, Tourbillon), Ivorian (Nei, Eburnie), Japanese (Kodansha, Child, Chuokoron-Sinsha), and obtained in 2021 the 3rd prize of the competition of the city of Boulogne-Billancourt and in 2001 the first prize of the competition of illustrated books of the Pinpoint gallery in Tokyo.
